Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Thanks. That makes it more clear. I'm also looking at a 3.5" sbc that lists "1x PCIe x4 slot (w/ 4x PCIe x1 speed)". is that also what you are referring to as a 4x slot with only one lane? Thanks, Greg.
Thanks. It looks like I wouldn't even need an adapter if my card was pcie 4x, correct?
Edit: I see it. I was looking at the 4x - 16x adapter. Would that adapter work with any M.2 slot 3?
I'm looking for a pico-itx board to base a small server on. My only hangup is finding a board that will support a PCIe raid card with 8 ports. Perhaps I'm not reading the specs right, but I've yet to see one with anything more than 1x pcie. Can someone please point me to one. Thanks, Greg.
Thanks. I already had the drive installed, showing as FREE. To add it to the array do I use the "Expand RAID set" function? I see the Modify Volume Set but it doesn't give me a raid6 option, likely because it doesn't see the free drive as what I want to use. Thanks, Greg.
I have an Areca 1222 controller and a 4-drive raid 5 array. I'd like to add parity/redundancy drives making it a raid 6 array but am not clear in how to do this. I see the option to expand raidset, but the manual is unclear, it leads me to believe that the result would be a raid 5 array of 5...
I have a computer with an areca 1222 with a raid 5 array. I can stream the files that are on the array across my network and watch them on my media player, but minutes in to a large file copy, the system locks up. It does not matter if I try and copy across the network, to another drive in the...
The array is raid 5, so when I disconnect one, the entire array is disabled. This can be seen in that the array does not show up during post, usually the array can be seen on the screen where it says to hit tab or f6 to go into the raid setup.
I have a computer I built and use as a server. I am in the middle of upgrading the MB/CPU /OS. It is an I7 processor in an Asus Rampage 3 formula mainboard. I have Win 7 64 installed but when the raid card is installed and drives attached the system hangs intermittently for several seconds at a...
I tried everything suggested and more with no positive results. The array had been rebuilt a while back due to a failed drive, and as I understand, that makes it even harder to recover files. Add to that the fact the array was made of 4 2-tera drives, I think the size was a factor, as I got some...
I have just made a bonehead mistake and need to fix it. I deleted a bunch of videos from a folder on a Raid 5 array. I've tried a few recovery programs and they don't seem to work, mainly saying they can't access the drive. Does anyone have an idea of how to recover them? Any help will be...
