Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The reason why is probably because everyone knows the name, plus all the marketing crap they've built from it keeps it selling.
I agree it's total bloatware, serious resource hog and a PITA to remove!
I think there are mostly a few cosmetic changes between the two esp the front of the case.

Jason, I noticed for the first time in this review that you mentioned that you do the torture test first before doing any software/game installation, but it's further down the review and seems out of place so far back.
I always thought you put the systems through the torture test after you have...
I'm quite surprised that you "Recommended With Reservations" for such an $$$ expensive system that barely ran well to begin with.
I've worked on one of their laptops before and it came with a bunch of stats/benchmarks listed in the binder, I don't think I noticed if you had commented on that...
Awesome review as ever.
It sounds like cut backs on the support dept, but at the same time wasted resources such as automated phone system that really does nothing and the receptionist who just passes the support call along.
That RMA process would have seriously p!$$3d me off to say the...
I would have thought that most of those scores would have been reduced if the said fans were running at full speed if that's what it took to help solve the heat issue.
Here's a thought!
What would have happened had a 7600Gt with a 3rd party video card cooler(such as Artic Cooler) along with...
I thought this review was going to get interesting when I saw the words "Tiger Direct", you didn't let me down lol!
Now I wonder if anyone from that co' is going to be willing to comment on that review!
Regarding the bootup issues that you had I wondered if they were related to Norton in or the video card or both!
Obviously later on in your review Norton was an issue regarding the first set of benchmarks.
It almost sounds like Norton was added after all the tests that Puget had done...
One thing I don't understand is why the gaming score was less than a 9?
Battlefield 2 was the only thing you mentioned that had any issue, but was related to a outdated driver.
I thought the review very prudent for it's worth and just goes to show that (IMO) for the first time in a good while games are starting to come out that require some seriously dedicated hardware to run them with.
Add to the fact that most gamers are playing on good quality LCD's which also...
That's just a question of money, remember your going to need the crossfire mobo as well as another video card.
Those who already have a partial Nvidia SLI I don't see the cost benefit of completely switching over to a new card/mobo combo as well as all the issues that crossfire still has.
If...
Word of mouth is worth more than 100's flyers IMO which is how I get so much work doing exactly the same thing your thinking of advertising.
Most flyers usually end up in the trash bin, unless your going to be posting them in libraries, shops, notice boards at work.
The EVGA mobo is a rebadged Jetway 939GT4SLI.
Going thru the pdf manual(found Here 7F refers to 7F POST: error check Check POST - error and display them and ask for user intervention
Check in the bios (under intergrated peripherals/onchip ide function) and make sure your sata channels are...
As DevilDog mentions you have your memory incorrect for dual channel!
The manual is wrong in it's statement regarding the positions used for dual channel.
Just use the colour coding either yellow or blue slots for your memory.
My cpu Opteron 148 according to the bios temps I'm running at...
Love the evaluations, keep them coming as they give a very good insight into the fact that there are system builders out there that do look after their customers.
Btw does MainGear know of the evaluation that you did on them?
I know in previous one's you have done you mentioned in the eval...
