Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
yeah I thought that but when remapping the drives I get the auth prompt again that loops. restarting the server fixes the issue temporarily - mappings work by double clicking on them without having to authenticate again.
from client machines that have the shares mapped as a drive letter are either disconnected and you cannot open the mapped drives as it just timesout/errors or when you do try an authentication prompt pops-up wanting the username and password which I enter but nothing happens after entering them...
I have had my OI+ZFS+Napp-it N36L Microserver running for a few months without issue. I have noticed only in the last few weeks the SMB shares drop off for some reason. A reboot solves the issue but only temporarily. I have local permissions set on the shares and can see/read/write to them...
Thanks Gea. After removing the ARC (ssd partition) from the pool speeds picked back up above 80MB/s transfers. When I have a bit more time I will fine tune it some more, but I will build another microserver with those specs you mention. More than happy with its current performance.
Well I finally took the plunge and setup ZFS (OI & Napp-it) on my H36L just for a play. Current config: H36L Microserver, 8GB RAM (non-ecc), 3x3TB Seagates in RAIDZ1, a Samsung 840 (non-pro) 120GB partitioned with 16GB for OI, 40GB read cache and the rest for log/zil cache.
I'm a linux/ZFS...
Hi Nate,
I got it working however I did experience the same issue as you:
cpu4:2178)megaraid_sas: HBA reset handler invoked without an internal reset condition.
But for some reason it boots past that now and all the drives are visible :-) The only drawback is it takes a while for esxi...
I left it for 20 minutes at the loading module megearaid_sas screen. I upgraded the motherboard BIOS hoping I would see a similar option in it but could not find anything.
I am putting together a test system but am not having any luck with getting ESXi installed on it. Specs:
FX-8120
Asrock 970 Extreme3
16GB GSkill DDR3
M1015 SAS Card
2x146GB 15K SAS
1x146GB 10K SAS
1x1TB WD Black
All connected to the M1015. I have updated the Asrock to the latest...
