Because not all small shops need SAN's, they add a lot of extra expense and can complicate small designs.
What is the point of having redundant nodes/switches/nics but not have a redundant SAN, you ideally would need two. This is required in order to reduce risks as you know.
Yes, the "better"...
Ok, so the lite version is available in the UK.
£123.52 through 4gon.co.uk, US RRP price is $99..........
Anyhow, going to have to test one out, link it with my LR UniFi units.
If only they had MPLS functionality :(
Thanks,
G.
Hi,
Thanks for all the replies.
Seems like you get pulled your pants down, but you have no choice :)
Awesome, will need to purchase them then really.
Just need to finalise the spec and see from there.
Thanks,
Gabi
Hi,
Looking to purchase 3 R720 hosts.
Just wondering if you guys have been buying/installing your own HD's into these units and your experience?
The prices in the UK are still very expensive and as we don't buy a lot of equipment (get to play with lots though) the discounts aren't there...
NFS is defo fully supported by Synology.
Thanks for the update NetJunkie regarding the test patches available and that they are successful.
Fingers crossed.
There has been a lot of this online, it's unfortunate for them, but who's fault actually is it? Synology or VMware?
If this is broken for Synology, there must be issues for Netgear and other providers too?
No release date in the UK either. Been speaking to one of their resellers here and I will find out when they become available, but could be a little while though.
The lite version + one of their access points for home would be a great install. In fact, I might replicate this setup to my family...
How did you find the range ? I will be purchasing these for work soon, but want to have a play with one and the wireless at my mums house sucks, so will buy her one of these or Airport Express.
Thanks,
G.
Need more info for this.
A lot of people tend to like the UniFi product on here, an alternative product is Meraki, however, they are a subscription based model.
