    Evga 8800 GTS Superclocked

The regular evga 8800 GTS's overclock like mad. Mine's at 660/2040 totally stable. Many others have got similar results. Paid $369 at Newegg

what is the safest settings for oc my 8800 gts? using stock fan air cooled?

The EVGA cards seem to overclock very well. Mine is at 660/1970 and very stable.

Does the brand make a difference?

I really like the EVGA video cards. Best warranty and the 8800GTS overclocks like mad. I have mine at 670 core and 1980 memory. This compares to a stock 8800GTX at 575/1800. :)

Is this a good 3dmark06 score for my specs..

With a E6400 overclocked to 3.2GHz all stock volts, and an EVGA 8800GTS overclocked to 670/1980, I get 10,895 in 3D Mark 06.

Magazines vs. The Web @ [H] Consumer

I gave up on Maximum PC a few months ago when it had 111 pages of crap ads that had little to do with the basic purpose of the magazine.

    Overdrive PC Core2.X-Fire @ [H] Consumer

I think [Hard] is getting off track with their system reviews. Do you really think I want to waste my time reading comments like "the Windows sticker was on the back of the case and would be difficult to get to"? Gemmie a break. The same thing with two video cards would have been faster. I...

When do you think core 2 duo's will drop in price?

They will drop for sure when the Core 4 Quadro comes out. Ron

Voodoo Envy m:750 CPU, GPU upgrades

Anyone know how difficult it is to install a new GPU and CPU in the chassis? Does the LCD screen, keyboard, or anything else need to be removed? I have built quite a few desktops, so I could handle moderate difficulity. Ron

Practical limit of air - 92mm vs 120mm?

One thing to look at is the design of the heatsink. A 80mm Toronado on the Swiftech coolers, cools better that the 92mm Toronado, because the center hub on the 92mm is right over the CPU die, and creates...

    Maingear Prelude Evaluation @ [H]

AreEss: I was not trying to put down the cabeling job that maingear did. It was better than most system builders. However, Overdrive PC does infact trim the fan wires to the exact length, resolder and sleeve them. Their top end systems are about $300 more than Maingear's. I guess Chris...

    Maingear Prelude Evaluation @ [H]

Great review. There is only one area where I think the evaluation was off a little. The comment that the cabeling was great is not quite correct. The CPU heatsink fan's wires were folded back several times. A10 rating need's for them to be shortned and sleeved. Also the two wires on the...
