Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

From the comments you should be able to RMA directly to VisionTek for the reference version.
Hum, commenters on that same Newegg page say they weren't able to unlock.

10% is really conservative by the way. I've seen them contribute up to 30% depending on the block.
Thanks XacTaxtX.. started a new thread.
Sigh... looks like I'm going to have to spring for the extra money.
Hilariously, I don't want the extra shaders for gaming. They increase the performance of mathematics applications significantly.
And if so - where did you buy your card?
Looking for one of these - it doesn't HAVE to be reference but I'm seeing that non-reference are almost 100% sure to not be unlockable.
Any non-reference buyers who could unlock? Reviews at Amazon suggest the non-reference VisionTek's are still...
Hi guys - new here and joined specifically to ask - so what is the summary of this thread.. are there any 9650's available anymore that would reliably be unlocked?
Also, I'm sort of a newb at this stuff - if the card can't be unlocked, I'm assuming that also means the shaders can't be...
