Anyone paint or otherwise change the color of their silver M1? I have a silver V4 but am sort of pining to make it black these days to match the rest of my setup. I'm assuming from the factory it comes black anodized if you choose that, but do I have any options on the silver to reliably go...
Reporting in 3 years later - I've got the X99E-ITX/ac still running strong with my weirdo engineering sample 12-core Xeon E5-2676V3, Noctua NH-C14S, 32GB RAM and MSI GTX 980 Ti. It's been in my backpack and travelled all across the country, done countless overnight transcoding sessions and long...
Anyone running a 2-slot 2080ti in their M1? I've got an X99 12-core Xeon e5-2676v3 + MSI GTX 980 Ti setup that's been great to me over the last 3 years running on the silverestone SFX 600w PSU and wondering about fitment, cooling, and power concerns with this setup if I go with a 2080Ti this...
Can you post a basic step by step on your process to getting Yosemite running and/or the utilities you used? Unibeast 5 or 6, or neither? The kexts used and tools used to inject them?
I've been following X99 guides on tonymacx86 including one where the user had a 2676V3, but I've been stuck at...
Awesome build. What kind of work do you do using the 2676? I've got one but cannot get any of the Adobe apps (namely Premiere Pro CC 2015 and After Effects) to take full advantage of the CPU under windows 10 during export. The same exports on my Retina MacBook Pro 15" load up all cores, but on...
Which Ncase version do you have? I'll have to take a look at mine when I get home and see if it's actually too low or too high, I forget which direction it was off.
If you could help me out that would be incredible, I've been trying to get OS X installed for weeks now. I think part of the issue is potentially my Xeon 2676 V3 but I've been trying 10.10.3 for that reason. I actually got to the point where I had it installed, and Nvidia web drivers working for...
Which board? I didn't have any issues with my Asrock X99 ITX's I/O shield going into my V4.
I mean, to be honest the ports are a little bit off height wise if I remember correctly, but not to the point where there's any issue. Are you saying your board sits too low due to standoffs being a...
I think you can, your 2X SSDs will go up front (or one in the M2 slot if you're into that too) behind the case's faceplate, and your 3.5" HDD can go on the side bracket that usually holds the 240mm radiator. You just need to use some sort of big air cooler and watch the clearance on the right...
The one you linked is correct. I have one too but realized that the stock Broadcom/Azurewave is compatible with OS X and the 7260 isn't. I haven't had any issues with the stocker just yet but I have both in case it goes nuts.
Yeah it's MSI's Twin Frozr cooler. Is creating a duct more beneficial than having fans on the floor of the case blowing fresh air up at the card? I've heard that typically adding fans to this case doesn't benefit too much in exchange for added noise, but I may have one or two laying around that...
Okay so I finally got low profile PCI-E power cables and am able to fully enclose the case. After a solid hour or two playing BF4 in 4K/ultra/SweetFX, my MSI 980 Ti looks to have been steady at 91C the whole run. My CPU I wasn't graphing but it barely idles at 32C and I don't see the fan ramping...
I don't have an issue with third person RPG-style stuff running at ~35fps, especially story-driven stuff that can be cinematic, but for anything FPS or remotely competitive obviously the desire is to be muuuuch higher than that.
As soon as I can both test video editing / encoding in OS X and...
