Broken cut-off wheels and aluminum in my eyes

I wasn't about to take it outside into the snow to hack up my case. Besides, I get out of the military in 3 weeks. Someone else can deal with the aluminum shavings. :D

Broken cut-off wheels and aluminum in my eyes

Keep in mind that I'm in Alaska. While the ambient temp in my room is 27C, my window is open and there is a slight temp change at ground level. I think the rad is getting a cold breeze across it. I understand that it can't be lower than ambient, I just found it interesting when I checked the...

Then my thermometer is reading the ambient temp and water temp wrong.

No vortex. I have it filled about 3/4 of the way to the top. There's a little divider inside the res that separates the inlet and outlet. I got it from dangerden.

This is without anything inside the case except the watercooling stuff. It's just leak testing and purging right now.

Broken cut-off wheels and aluminum in my eyes

I'm still flowing about 3gpm. I just stuck an aquarium thermometer in the reservoir. With the radiator fan off and nothing heating the system it is sitting at 25C...2C under ambient.

Broken cut-off wheels and aluminum in my eyes

So at noon I set out to pick up some last minute stuff that I needed to setup my watercooled rig. I got to my room and started up my dremel around 2pm. You may remember the Lytron 6110 that I posted about a week ago. I got it off ebay for $40. I had to hack apart the external 3.5"...

    mmm...Lytron rad

I'll be (hopefully) doing the install this weekend. It all depends on how much fun I have playing in the mud with my truck. :) If you folks remember my ghetto install then you'll remember my style. ;) I'm going to try to make this one look good.

    mmm...Lytron rad

Yeah, I saw that behemoth, I just don't have room in my case for it. Well, I guess I DO have room, but I'm too lazy to mess with it. /me hugs his Lian-Li PC75

Easily. It's about the same dimensions as a BIX. Here's a graph of its heat dissipation capability. I have the 6110 model. Keep in mind that I have an eheim 1250 which flows 5.8gpm and a 120mm fan that blows 90cfm...so it should, theoreticaly cool even better than this. I'm looking at being...

    mmm...Lytron rad

I picked this little bad boy up on ebay for $40. Not only did I get it cheaper than a BIX, but it dissipates twice the heat.
