so i have 800 bucks to spend on an upgrade, i need mobo, cpu, and video card. i currently have an athlon 64 3200 754, an asus k8v-se, and a %$(^@(* 9600 256mb video card. here's what my requirements are, it has to be an opteron 165 or 170, oem or retail doesn't matter - and a really nice...

    Giga-Byte GA-7N400 Pro 2, weird beeps

depends on the bios. could be a memory issue try removing one then the other stick (if you have more than one) anything show up on the screen? could be video error as well. trial and error, look up your bios manual on the internet somewhere and it should give you a more specific thing to look...

OK To reapply this chipset heatsink?

thermal paste will be better than the pads they used. the pads they use imo act as more of an insulator than a heat spreader. it's nice and clean, throw it on there :)

What's everyone's take on these two motherboards?

when i worked at a computer hardware store, the best selling and least returned mobo we had was the p4p800se. it's extremely reliable and from what i hear overclocks decently... not much info on the gb board but it looks trusting. but if i was buying a board i'd get the p4p800se

FS: Antec Phantom 350W Fanless PSU

Used this for about a week, but did not appreciate the temperatures my computer achieved with this. I was using it in an acoustic room with a mostly silent computer (it's a great PSU, it was stable even under that temperature and performed excellent in cooler temperatures).. I moved on to a...

Bought a K8N Neo4 Platinum SLI received a diamond SLI

no there are no physical differences like that at all... physically they are the same board, except for maybe the pin headers for usb and firewire... the platinum has open pins, the diamond has a closed plug adapter... at least looking at the pics i have laying around that is the only...

any n4 motherboard support agp graphic card still?

any n4 motherboard support agp graphic card still?

negatron! nf4 simply supports pci-e only. you can go get a albatron ATOP adapter, and look like a fool, or stick with nf3 boards. unfortunately it's hard to find a decent nf3 939 board, your main options are msi k8n neo2...or wait for the new dfi board ... as i am (im)patiently doing, as well
