ASUS Official Z68 Chipset Motherboards - Support Thread

I had the case that my machine seemed stable while Ocing an i7 2600k to 4,4Ghz and trying to reduce Vcore to a minimum. No crashes or errors in Prime95, but every once in a while it would randomly crash with a BSOD in games (AssCreed: Brohood) and then restart. I specified more Core voltage for...

Just a heads-up for OCers: I tried be clever with my P8Z68 Deluxe and basically tried to run the lowest possible vcore for 4,4Ghz with my i7 2600k. So I set Vcore to Offset and - 0.015. So that I would get a nice low CPU voltage and run cooler. Everything seemed fine with Prime95, no lockups...

Apparently Bios (Beta) 0651 for P8Z68 Pro and Deluxe is out. It only mentions "improved system stability"... If I flash this, do I need to write down all my Bios/OC settings and redo them? Or will those settings be kept for new bios?

Yesss! My new system is finally built. Decided against a fan control and connected the fans to the mobo directly: 3 x radiator fans @ CPU_FAN, CHA1_FAN, CHA2_FAN 2 x case fans @ PWR1_FAN, PWR2_FAN Specs are: Asus P8Z68 Deluxe i7 2600k 16GB RAM Corsair Vengeance kit 4x4GB 1.5v 9-9-9-24 Watercool...

Hmm I haven't built mine yet, but I heard of freezing issues with Vertex2/3 drives. There are new firmwares for these drives that sometimes fix it. I also read it is wise to disable Hibernation/hibernate file and disable LPM from Intel via Registry hack or activate Hot plugging on in Bios...

Thanks for the help! How does one connect 3 fans in parallel? Is the only way to use those y-cables? That would mean using 2x Y-cables to get it down to 2 fans and then another Y-cable to go from 2xfans to 1xfan connector? Is that the standard procedure? Seems like an aweful cable mess, no?

ASUS Official Z68 Chipset Motherboards - Support Thread

I think buying 3 Y-fan cables to get the 3x120mm radiator fans to connect to one header would be a waste and not sure if the header would support it. The P8Z68 manual states that the CPU_FAN header supports 1A (12W) and a normal 120mm fan is something like 0.33A or more. That would leave just...

ASUS Official Z68 Chipset Motherboards - Support Thread

I have a brandnew P8Z68 Deluxe waiting to be installed and some questions regarding the fan connectors. My system has 3x120mm fans for the radiator + 2x120mm case fans. All in all 5x120mm fans need to be connected. Now the P8Z68 board (sadly) only has 1x CPU_FAN 2x CHA_FAN 2x PWR_FAN (not...
