    Intel's 8th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (LGA 1151, 6C/12T)

This is not clear by any means.

    Intel Coffee Lake Core i5-8600K vs 7600K at 5GHz Review @ [H]

I don't think Coffee Lake is slower than Kaby. If you put in some error bars in, it could fall within the margin of error. I was looking forward to better IPC, but now I'm leaning towards Ryzen, especially if the prices on the 1700X drop.

    Coffee Lake CPU Availability Issues

I am in the market for one, but I've waited 4+ years to upgrade happy to wait a couple of months longer to save a bit of money. As of right now, Newegg have the processors listed but no Z370 motherboards. Perhaps this isn't going to be a smooth launch after all.

Probably been mentioned already but looks like tthe 8600K and 8700K are sold out.

Intel 8700K and 8600K Coffee Lake Reviewed at Lab501

Hard to disambiguate those graphs. Very poor. It looks like the 8700K at stock is faster than the 1800X, across the board. Did they get the 8700K to 5 GHz?

    Intel's 8th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (LGA 1151, 6C/12T)

When the term IPC is used (or misused?), is it a measure of single precision arithmetic or dual precision? Is it correct that all microprocessor operations are in integer or FXP (fixed point) format?

    Intel's 8th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (LGA 1151, 6C/12T)

I would be nice to have more bandwidth dedicated to storage devices in a mix-and-match scenario, for example, if only 1 card is detected, then give those lanes to n other devices etc. But I suppose that would drive up costs and complexity quite a bit. Looking at the Z170 vs Z270 vs Z370 (could...

    Intel's 8th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (LGA 1151, 6C/12T)

Thank you for the explanation. Which components get the direct to CPU link and which ones are on the multiplexed lanes? Are most to the 16 non-MUX lanes for CPU module communication?

    Intel's 8th Generation Core Family - Coffee Lake (LGA 1151, 6C/12T)

Can somebody explain how PCIe lanes are counted? The CPU itself has 16, but there are more lanes on the chipset? How does this work?

I am one of those people looking to upgrade from a Haswell i5 setup. Looking forward to a solid [H] review advising an upgrade path based.
