Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Look into the Dell Mini 10v netbook. It's one of the best in it's class, can run Mac OS X (if you're into that), and can easily be had for ~$199. Check the Dell Outlet for some good deals on refurbs.
Sorry for the long wait, but here's some answers:
The Dell Mini 9 uses a Mini-PCI SSD. I bought a RunCore 32GB based on price: $120 vs $220 for a 64GB RunCore Mini-PCI SSD. I wasn't going to use much space, and I didn't want to spend that much, so I went with a 32GB. It was more than enough...
When compared to other netbooks with a standard Atom N270+GMA 950, this thing should be significantly faster. I had a Dell Mini 9 with Win7 on it (and OS X), and it was plenty fast for most things I was doing. If I'm going to game or encode video, I'll hop on my desktop or MacBook. I might pick...
The Core 2 Solo is pretty fast, compared to the Atom in your previous Aspire One. It'll run rings around it. Based on my own research, I'd go with the 1410. It's got more muscle than a netbook, and close to 6-hour battery life. Plus, the 4500MHD in it should be able to push 1080p with the proper...
I had a Dell Mini 9 with a 32GB SSD, and the thing felt like it was indestructable. I took it everywhere and it held up under some serious abuse. As long as you invest in an SSD, netbooks are very durable. Doesn't have to be an Intel X-25; look into one of the cheaper SSDs, like an OCZ Agility...
Eager to hear how TF2 runs on it. I'm thinking of picking one of these as well.
(TF2 isn't a deal-breaker, my desktop plays it at max settings, but it would be nice to get into a quick match between classes :D )
Hello all, first time poster, long time reader. I'm in the market for a new netbook to replace my sold Dell Mini 9, and I was looking at the Acer 1410, but then I saw that HP is releasing their new netbook with Nvidia ION graphics, the HP Mini 311. What do you think will be faster: the Atom N280...
I like the Acer 1810T (called 1410 over here in the States). I just sold my Dell Mini 9 netbook, because it was too small for my hands and cramped my wrists. I'm looking at getting one of the 11" CULV models, and it's most likely going to be the Acer 1410. Amazon has them for around $437, and...
