Howdy everyone, I currently have a dfi dk p35-trs2 with a thermalright ultra-120 extreme cooler but due to the upper most heat sink on the motherboard you can only mount the cooler horizontally so i get crappy air flow and it covers the ram slots so I'm quite limited in ram selection for...

I'v been trying to find some documentation or any information on what the technology is called that throttles down your cpu when its not under load on the quads/etc.

its just blowing the air either onto your video card or at your psu instead of going out the back of the case. BUT the air coming out of the cooler isnt hot so id imagine its only a few degrees warmer in the case

yeah you cant mount the thermalright 120 extreme vertically on that board without some modification to the upper most heatsink on the dfi board because its a few cm to high. it fits horizontally but it blows the air either onto your vid card or psu so be careful. I'm gonna chop down that...

Update: I resolved my ram issue, just needed the newest bios and my ballistix booted like a charm. Hope I didn't scare ya off anything haha

I finally setup my rig today, but my 2gig kit of crucial ballistix wouldn't post in the rig. My roomies OCZ plat kit booted fine. The Ballistix worked fine in my gigabyte ds3r no problem though. Also the upper most heatsink prevents you from mounting a Thermalright Extreme 120 vertically so you...

been keeping tabs on this post and thanks Xilikon for the product list. I just have a quick question I noticed the fittings on the various barbs range from 1/4 - 1/2 in size. How does this affect the tubing? Would you have to purchase separate barbs to make it all the same?

are there any after marketing cooling solutions or the northbridges on any of these boards?
