When you uninstalled the sata the os didn't know what to do. If you had installed windows sata drivers first before you deleted the uli You might have gotten away with that move. Do your research on the boards running the uli 1575 chip for sata. There are either bad chips or poorly configured or both. Bought dfi cfx 3200 and after 2 months the uli chip screwed up. You get hd time out errors and lockups had to put my os drive on the fast track controller card to get...
