It is obviously not true 1080p output. Read the above posts. It is 1680x1050 resolution, and 1080p is 1920x1080. Anything below 1920x1080 pixels cannot display true 1080p. That said, I connect it to my XBox 360 at the 1920x1080 setting via VGA, and it looks great. I set the monitor to...
I use 1920x1080 with my Sceptre 22" using 1:1 pixel mapping. It basically cuts off a bit from the sides, but it is not noticeable, as in every game I have played the HUD is still well within the picture.
My Sceptre x22wg also looks blurry when connected via VGA to my laptop with ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. But I tried it with DVI on my desktop and it looks much crisper. I have to buy a new laptop that has DVI. I also bought a Spyder monitor calibrator, which has not arrived yet (actually, my...
If you look in the Sceptre x22wg thread, on the last and 2nd to last pages, somebody else had the same problem. Apparently the Sceptre supports HDCP ONLY through HDMI, so you will have to wait until your cable gets there.
According to the Wikipedia article about VGA (Video Graphics Array): "Video Graphics Array (VGA) is an analog computer display standard first marketed in 1987 by IBM."
"It may also refer to the 15-pin D-subminiature VGA connector which is still widely used to carry analog video signals of all...
I play Xbox 360 on this monitor via VGA at 1920x1080. I set the Sceptre to Native (1:1 pixel mapping) so that it does not stretch the image, it merely cuts of the edges. This is working fine for me so far. It does not cut off anything important, and the HUD, etc are always still visible.
Thanks, Sniviler. I installed the driver, but I don't think it really did anything. Is there any way to stop the overcast/shadows that fall the the right of all text/images while connecting to my laptop via VGA?
I am having trouble installing the sceptre.inf driver. My laptop's graphics card is ATI Mobility Radeon 9200, and it has neither 1440x900 nor the native 1680x1050 resolution as a choice in Display settings. The choices are 1280x768, 1280x800, 1280x1024, 1600x1200, 1920x1200 and up. I...
When I try connect this monitor to my laptop via VGA (which is all the laptop has), it does not have the correct resolution (1680x1050) as an option, so I choose 1600x1200. Text on this set-up is blurry, with extra shadows (I think they are called overcast) on all the characters/images. Is there...
How do I download the drivers for this monitor? I went to the website ftp://ftp.sceptre.com/pub/monlcd/sceptre.inf
But it doesn't seem to have any links, just text. Am I supposed to copy/paste some code somewhere?
When I try connect it to my laptop via VGA (all the laptop has), it does not...
