Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.

Went with the Hauppauge 1800 1129 [1].
It doesn't come with a MCE remote. Can I just buy a MCE remote to use with the card or do I need an IR reciever as well? It seems that the 1800s that come with a remote use the same board so I would assume that there is an IR reciever...
I've been to baseball games the past 2 nights(Tribe is in town), but here's a quick update:

If you're going to college it all depends how far and what your trip to class is like.
Commuting back and forth to college or flying to school = laptop
Walking across campus and driving to school = desktop
Reason being that if you have a short commute to class, odds are the PCs in the labs...
So the L took FOREVER last night, left work at 6, got home (6 miles away) at 7:30 PM. Damn you CTA....
Anyway, no pics since I was so late I didn't get finished with what I wanted to do but here's what I got so far:

Every day that goes by is another day you could be using your l33t gaming rig. Eye on the prize. And if you've got a 22" monitor, you could be watching your movies and games with Barbie sized characters instead of Lego ;)

Once everything is sleeved and ready to go, I'll be making the final order.

Ditto to the compressed air and the vac. If you've already replaced your HSF then I'm assuming you know how to take apart a computer so just disassemble and blow it all out. Compressed air has a little tube to concentrate the flow of air. Pay close attention...

I got mine new off of newegg awhile back for 39.99 with free shipping. Although with mice it's more of a feel thing. If you're a lefty, you may want a Razer since both the G5 and 518 are designed for us right handed people.
That's why I posted the what to do thread.
If people followed it, the "help me!!! I've got $1000 to spend" threads would end. There is a lot to be learned, for sure, from participating in helping people build PCs but the rehashing of the same thread over and over is frustrating.
I have no...
Club IT has the IP35 Pro for 179.99+S&H, I got one. It also had a $20 MIR, but that's gone now.

I enjoy dabbling in the nether realms of logic, so I will give you an honest answer:
Copper's melting point is ~1000 degrees Celcius, which, unless you take a blow torch to it, you aren't going to be able to do. Most solder melts at ~200 degrees celcius.
If you are serious about melting...
~$1000 means about 1000 for a gaming rig, ground up (monitor included)
Obviously if you have the OS and monitor that price will be adjusted.
These are the basic specs I was looking at when I came up with 1000:
Case $50
CPU $90
HDD $50
Monitor $120
Keyboard $20
Mouse $20
GPU $90...
