Is it possible to run this monitor at greater than 60Hz at 1080P over HDMI? Just ordered one, but I don't currently have a desktop and my laptop only has HDMI out. I know I can't get the full 144 or even 120Hz, just hoping I'll get some use before I can afford a new desktop!
laptop is Dell...
In Windows, you're right. In games, I don't care.
Sorry, I have 2 graphics cards (Optimus). HD3000 and GT540m. The mini display port is through the HD-3000 (no 120Hz) but the HDMI output is through the 540m.
I'm looking for a monitor for use with my laptop. I would like it to be 120Hz capable. The only 2 outputs on my laptop are a mini-DP and HDMI 1.4a. Unfortunately, the mini-dp is through the HD3000 integrated graphics which does not support 120Hz. However, I have read that HDMI 1.4 can...
Hello, I have what I think is a somewhat unusual dilemma. I play Team Fortress 2 competitively. There is this site, tf2lobby.com, that is used to organize pick up games. You log in on the site, join a lobby, and when it is full, it launches TF2 and connects you to a server. The problem is...
Hey fellows, I'm looking for a USB sound card to hook my headphones up to when I'm gaming or listening to music on my laptop. Gaming is the main priority but I would like it to be good for music to. I am looking at the ones listed below, but am open to other options. Thoughts...
And 9/11 was fake.
I think the conspiracy theory is ridiculous. Unfortunate and coincidental timing, yes. A conspiracy? No. A thread made by a -bigadv folder on the foldingforum brought the issue to PG's attention.
Edit: spelling, missing word
I'm sure there are some ;)
However, I do not believe that is a large part of the drop off. The number one reason is obviously the -bigadv points reduction.
Isn't that low for a dual hex system? I can't afford such things, but I was under the impression that that dual hex Xeon systems are typically 100k+ PPD. EDIT: Nvm, that's probably pre-point-reduction numbers.
But according to Stanford they are more than capable of running all work units --...
Depends. anything from the GTX 560 Ti to the GTX 590 will do great depending on how much money you want to spend, how much power draw you consider reasonable, and how much heat you want to deal with.
The 560 Ti is my card of choice because it's less expensive, has a much lower power draw, and...
The analogy I have been given a couple times is that GPU folding is like a chainsaw, while CPU folding is like a scalpel. The GPU can simulate a lot really fast, but it cannot handle the complexity of some units like the CPU can. Both are essential parts of the project.
