I try to follow the rule of thirds - but it didn't seem to work with this image. Made it look crowded with all the clouds as well.
As for the gloomy blue - thats as good as the sky ever gets in the UK. :D

I went for that so that the nose of the aircraft is virtually dead centre. I did try cropping it tighter but it didn't appeal to me
