Smoothwall issue getting correct IP from cable ISP
1 - Done this several times in various orders. 2 - While I have not verified this recently there should be no reason it isn't set to dhcp since it was configured that way when I first installed smoothwall.- flapster

I'm trying to set up the network at a house I moved into. At my previous place I had a cable modem and my smoothwall box for a router, everything worked fine. I contacted Cox tech support to have them unregister my cable modem from the last address and register it here at the new house...- flapster

SSH Server on DD-WRT
RDC runs on port 3389, so assuming you have it running on your server at home... Setup your SSH tunnels in the putty configuration. Since mstsc doesn't allow loopback connections you'll have to do it a bit differently than say if you were using VNC. For the source port use 127.0.0.2:3389...- flapster

I tried what you suggested before you edited your post and yeah it did not work (formatting was wrong) as it was looking for test.dyndns.org:1010 which does not exsist internally. I just went ahead and set the webserver port to 1010 and changed the forwarding rule on smoothwall. All is working...- flapster

I just got around to trying this and I cannot get it to work.. Here is a quick rundown of how I have things set up. Webserver (running wordpress) IP: 192.168.1.10 Smoothwall has port 1010 forwarded to port 80 of the webserver. I didnt want 80 open to outside. Lets say external domain name...- flapster

How do I set up an http interceptor? Like when you connect to airport wifi..
I want to set up something so that when someone connects to my network (wireless or wired) and opens their browser they would be directed to a webpage of my choice.
