Bit-tech will have an Abit IN9 32X-MAX review soon...

They have only been around for two years, it will be a while before they have stuff like that worked out. :D At least they havn't been tainted by BIAS or bribes from the manufacturers/suppliers. :p

    8800GTX upgrade question

Won't be that much of a bottleneck, but I have noticed that the 8800's perform their best on Core 2 based systems. I've noticed that these cards are CPU dependent, and the better the processor you have, the better off you are.

    P5B deluxe mouse issues

When you installed your O/S, did you install the Intel chipset drivers from the Intel website?

    P5B deluxe mouse issues

The DMA settings are not located in the controller itself, they are located in "Primary IDE Channel" and "Secondary IDE Channel".

X850 Pro AGP can't load Windows Media Ed 2005 or Vista

No it doesn't, as I ran my 9700 Pro on my Neo2 Platinum for 6 months before transitioning to PCI Express. Bare in mind that he was running XP before trying to get Vista working on his setup. In my experience, it is Nvidia that is doing a suck-ass job on Vista support as of right now therefore...

X850 Pro AGP can't load Windows Media Ed 2005 or Vista

I hope he means the MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum, as the 965 series of chipsets is for PCI-Express and not AGP. But then again, we already knew that... didn't we? :D

DONT Buy ASUS and here is why.....

I have to concur with Crashman's view of Asus' quality control. For the past few years, it has been going downhill as ECS' has been getting higher and higher. I have to look at this as an RMA point of view as that is my job function, RMA for a vendor that sells a lot of Asus product. The...

    Power supply connection

Most 24 pin motherboards can handle a 20 pin ATX power supply without problems. The only manufacturers that I have seen contrary to this are Intel and DFI.

    A toughie: MX4000 and Gentoo Stage 2

From what their engineer has told me, they are using MPEG-4 compression for their videos. The frame-loss is noticed at a resolution of 1280x1024. The frame-loss doesn't occur on the S-Video output, which I believe runs at 640x480 or 800x600. Could the system specs be a little worse for wear? I...

Cleard cmos, still pc wont boot.

No green light but a blue light / red light? This is not a P5B Deluxe now is it? The only time I have seen a red light on an Asus board is when the following occurs: 1. Video card is in the wrong slot on an SLI motherboard. 2. Wrong voltage type for the video card. All Asus boards have a green...

    Why did Intel do this?

From what I recall back in the Pentium 4 days, Intel reached the threshold of frequencies on silicon using stock hardware and preventing it from burning out. They were able to get 3.8 GHz before realizing that any more speed would probably result in meltdown or electromigration. The solution to...

    A toughie: MX4000 and Gentoo Stage 2

We didn't sell the systems, we just sold the video cards. I'm the RMA tester for the company that sold them, hence why I got involved in this ruckus. The problem is that the contact demands a solution, yet, is not knowledgable in the aspects of computer hardware. She blames the video cards...

Cleard cmos, still pc wont boot.

Do you have a green light on the motherboard that is solid green, dim, or dead? If it is dim or dead and you have powered applied to it, the motherboard is shot.
