Help: 8gb DDR2 800Mhz or 4gb DDR3 1600Mhz
If in having 8 Gigs, you would opt for a larger OS like anything 64 bit. It would be as effective as running 4 gigs on a 32 bit OS. Something to base everyone's advice with. 4 Gigs is more reasonable. You might hit a ceiling, but, My Masserati ONLY goes 185. Drag. 8 Gigs? Wanna send me... -

notebook vs desktop
I always tell people to think about a 2:1 ratio. Desktops have twice as much, for half the price. But... they don't fit in a briefcase. My wife's web machine will probably be a laptop, but I'm building a moderate desktop. Already got the 32 inch monitor. Hoorah.- Fincher
