SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Well, it seems that some CPU's show porked temps with this Shuttle. With a temperature probe (small meat thermometer acutally) indicate more like a 28C idle and 40C load at the side of the chip and top of the heatsink. Just hope Shuttle gets it fixed.

No, PCIe/PCI move independently from the fsb. PCIe stays where it is.

Help with SpeedFan and Shuttle SN21G5

I 'm hoping DWorley will see this message, since he seems to have his SN21G5 up and running with SpeedFan, but hopefully others here will be able to help. First of all, ambient room temperature is 21C (70F). I thought my CPU was running really hot, but after opening my case and removing my...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

I messed with the settings a bit, and still the same result. Regardless of PCIe clock I can't get it to go faster than 220. Actually, I was able to boot at 221, and then at 225 once. But regardless of what I change, and bumping the CPU voltage in the BIOS, the voltage remains constant. I swear...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Thanks, I will look into that. I tried clockgen, but it all goes back to the voltage I believe. I couldn't get it past 220 anyways without bumping the voltage a bit. What is the relationship of the PCIe bus to the system bus speed (or HT or LDT or whatever they call it now)? I thought they...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Well, I'd be fine with 250FSB, but 220 is ludicrous! I think I will stick with the SN21G5 for now, I'm just not happy with the cooling so far. I added a small heatsink/fan on top of the ICE cooler on top of the CPU, and that seems to help 2-3 deg C.

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

While the SN25P has tons of advantages, the two things that held me back were its size and the lack of a standard PCI slot. I tote my SN95G5 around somewhat regularly, so its smaller size and weight are an added bonus. Also, while I am sure the onboard sound of the SN25P is good, I prefer a...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

It is a Denmark core, but reported as a Toledo. I had it overclocked just fine in my SN95G5 to 2.64GHz (11x 240) and I actually had it more than that, but didn't care to push the voltage above 1.4. I am not happy at all with this SN21G5. I just went out and bought an ST20G5 at my local Micro...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

I emailed them, but this is BS. There should not be any hidden trick to any of this.

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Well, the options are there to clock it higher than 220, all the way to 300 actually. But once it gets past POST, it won't go any further.

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Thanks. Just when I am in the process of assembling my SN21G5... Right now I am thinking of going back to my SN95G5 unfortunately. Stupid overclock and temperature issues. How dumb! Leave it to Shuttle!

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Yes - I did update to the latest BIOS too. Something is hosed, especially seeing that dworley is having the same issue. It seems like the voltages do not actually change when you change them in the BIOS. I tried all sorts of different configurations between the CPU and memory and 220 is...

SN21G5 - CPU Voltage Change is PORKED!

Just bought an SN21G5 to replace my SN95G5 since I wanted a PCI-Express video card. I previously had no issue running my Opteron 175 overclocked in my SN95G5 to 2.64GHz, with a slight voltage bump. Now that I am running my SN21G5, it will not overclock. I can get it to 2.42GHz, and with no...
