ya unfortunately I was 100% positive that the MB did not do the Surround out the HDMI. the board did not had an Optical out on it either. I ended up going with the Turtle Beach Sound card and I now have surround :) thanks folks!

well I just figured out that my new Biostar board will not do surround out the HDMI cable so I am going to need a separate sound card that has SPDIF out to run to my receiver. Looking through NewEgg is not really helping. so I am turning to you folks here to recommend a relatively cheep sound...

i got mine off Ebay and it was a refurb :) check out there it has a 1year waranty
