    Apparently, this is a GTX 780 chip, not the 780 Ti which is disappointing. I would have like to see the EVGA Kingpin card and this card face off.

    Asus Z87 Pro -what kind of caps does it have?

    As far as I know, Asus only uses 10K caps in its high end ROG series motherboards. Gigabyte uses a similar type for any Ultra Durable 5 spec'd motherboard. I don't think it is something to worry about through. Most people here will replace their mobo long before the capacitors give out.

    Yeah I knew the VRM section was the same which is why I went for the UD3H even though nowadays its the chip that determines a good overclock or not. Hardocp's review of the board convinced me it was a smart buy.

    Looking for recommendations on an AMD FX-series motherboard

    I think the 970 chipset only supports x16 - x4 crossfire on PCIe 2.0 which doesn't have the bandwidth for two modern video cards.

    Stick with the i5 4670K and that MSI motherboard. My room mate uses the G45 Gaming version of the same series (much cheaper without needless frills) and it's been rock solid so far. Processor isn't OC'd much (4.2GHz) but that isn't important with today's games being usually graphics limited...

    Swapping my Z87 mobo - do I have to reinstall windows?

    I've swapped mobos (P67 -> Z77) without reinstalling and its been fine for over a year. And I was using my current RAID-0 array! Still totally fine. I don't think there would be a problem since the chipset is the same, but it's always better to reinstall for peace of mind.

    Yes the Frostbite 3 engine really likes multicore processors so it's one of the few games that benefits AMD's FX processors and their many cores.

    5870 PCS++ or Asus V2

    I'm an Asus fan aswell, but you can't ignore the pre-overclocked goodness of the powercolor card. I've owned powercolor 4870 pcs+ cards in the past and they were rock solid.
