The Dell isn't exactly as matte as the rog swift or even it's older version the u2713hm. While it's not glossy, it's as good as it gets with the llightness of the ag coating.
Yeah. The swift indeed was a debacle as far as release went.
Looking around, there seems to be a couple of options.
There's an acer k272hul for 330 dollars and then there is a Benq gw2765ht for 390 dollars.
Both seem to even have a semi glossy screen! I mean I'm unable to find that luxury on...
Thank you for your response. The Asus mg279q really sounds too good to be affordable. Forget the Acer gsync. The very presence of gsync will jack up the prices.
Any idea when this Asus is coming out and any indication about the prices?
As topic says, nec ea274wmi white version has a good deal on it. Get it now or wait for the new batch of possibly free sync monitors? is this a good deal? And how is this monitor for games?
Yeah and in my experience some people are more susceptible to it than others. Thing is, personally I'm not demanding a full on glossy coating since I know that would be unfair to matte users. However asus could have met in the middle with a light ag coating like some of these new semi glossy...
This... I haven't done this and if this fixes the washed out colors, then I stand corrected. My observation was purely with what I could do to the colors on the monitor itself and I still maintain that if the Ag coating had been atleast semi-glossy instead of full on matte, we would have seen a...
Dude, please read my previous post and let me make this clearer. the colors are washed out EVEN WHEN COMPARED TO CERTAIN TN PANELS. I am in the possession of a TN panel that runs circles around this one with regards to colors popping. Now, after reading some responses here, let me summarize...
Look I like shiny things. I don't do color work so I don't care much about color accuracy. But I want my display to look lush and vibrant and colorful. Note that I don't also care a lot about viewing angles. So my line was if the swift could display saturated, vivid, lush colors that make the...
I had to verify this in person after hearing the colors issue from all quarters. After spending some time with it I can confirm that the colors are terrible. I mean they look really washed out compared to my new lg 34um95. I've seen tn panels with better color vibrance than this thing. But...
It would be a first world problem if you threw your money at Asus knowing all the problems. You see, someone from the developing world can never think of spending 800 dollars on matte coating and washed out colors and bad viewing angles and tn. I believe it's very reasonable to expect vibrant...
How are people here still not getting it?
2500 dollars is the price of the entire freaking computer. Not just the display !! The display alone should cost far less than the quoted 2500 dollars.
None of these display makers LG samsung dell etc will even remotely attempt to release a non tn 5k...
Also note that most people only hate tn because they had a bad experience with a rather washed out tn panel. I know tns can look good because I've seen a tn panel where the colors were so vibrant they popped right into my eyes. If asus had improved on their colors by making their ag coating...
Which means after discussed to death, you still didn't get it. A good majority of people - me included are not bothered about TN. I personally couldn't care less. I care about image quality and let me explain how that's different from the tn/ips debate. I've seen tn panels with beautiful colors...
Finally a valid debate!
You see, I agree on all the things you said. However, Image quality, vibrance, lushness and popping colors are very very important to some people. Actually to a lot of people.
This is one aspect people need to know about this monitor because all the reviews do not...
