i was afraid of that. oh well, thanks for the reply. now to decide if buying an x-fi was a mistake. i bought it almost a year ago but haven't moved to vista yet (waiting to do a full upgrade). been hearing negative things about alchemy but don't know what that's all about.- fakeian

as far as i know it's used to further manipulate settings like gamma/contrast/brightness/etc. i've noticed that my brightness and contrast are already near 100, but if things degrade i may need to invest in that cable/software as well. ...that is... if that really is what it's used for. :p -

to an extent this kind of behavior is completely normal for a crt monitor. on mine i've noticed that it has a high pitched wine when the computer is posting (not very noticable) then *clicks* to change resoultions and the whine goes away when i hit the desktop. :) if you use an nvidia... -

this may sound wierd, as it's difficult to describe it... when running a non-ws rez is it possible to get rid (or reduce) of that discolored/lighter area around the actual projected image - it's what is between the outer area that is void of a signal and the actual image that the monitor is... -

thanks for the impressions, that's about what i expected. as for the 1080i performance, teamxbox seems to think they could be doing an upscaling trick - which is why the resolution options are limited from the dash. are you using the 16:10 rez and expanding it to "over fit"; getting rid of the... -
