Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
The 1080p resolution seems rather inadequate for a screen of that size with such short intended viewing distances. I would think that for this thing to really take off, they need to bump it up to 4K resolution and drop the price point by about 50%. Of course, it may be awhile before that becomes...
The benefit of this card over my current GTX 460 are twofold:
1) This card, per the www.hardocp.com review has a 100% performance increase. That's DOUBLE the performance in only two generations. That's amazing.
2) Reduced power consumption? Yeah, that's right, this card will make me more...
Thanks for the suggestions guys. My at-home workstation should handle on of the heavy stuff.
This computer is primarily for taking notes while in class and on campus. I'll either use my workstation at home or an on-campus workstation for any serious programming or rendering. I want to be...
Hey Guys,
I will be returning to school for a second undergrad degree this fall. I will be majoring in Computer Science, with an emphasis in real-time 3d graphics programming.
I have a very powerful desktop (though measly, I'm sure, by [H] standards).
I need to find a laptop or...
LED bulb for ~ $24 at amazon:
Phillips EnduraLED.
At 10c per kWh and a 15 year lifespan, these bulbs have an estimated ROI of 285% vs. an incandescent with equivalent lumen output.
At $1 per bulb CFLs would have an ROI nearly 10x as good, even when including replacement bulbs due to...

Thanks Deathwish!
I'm going to try booting with only 1 stick of ram tonight to see what happens.
Yes, I was able to load a Linux OS from the Ultimate Boot CD (I don't know if it was Ubuntu or not). Everything ran fine in Linux. Does that mean my RAM is okay? I'm a complete newbie to that OS...
It passes Memtest, and I've tried running a clean install a few times.
I've been able to get as far as the desktop where it tries to finish the recovery CD process, but it then freezes.
A HDD check shows only 1 bad sector on the hard drive, but I suspect this is what's causing my...
Hey Guys,
My Toshiba Satellite M45-S355 laptop from back in 2005 was on the fritz. It started a couple years ago where the "Toshiba Power Saver" would have a fatal error. The computer would then usually overheat after awhile and shutoff.
It also wouldn't shut down all the way on it's own...
I have a friend who works at Best Buy. And, from what he tells me, the training is practically non-existent.
So, the only way that the staff will know anything is if they already know about it and are interested in it. Otherwise, you end up with vitamin guy, or the guy who I asked about IPS...
