5x30 is looking to be the best option. It would not be a huge deal to make it where I can landscape the center monitor. I forsee doing graphic and 3d modeling a pita on a portrait monitor.
And wth Samsung quit making 30" do not see them on there site.
Cost really isnt a issue with my proffesion. But i'm not throwing money away either so requardless it has to be right.
One thing about the 40" screen and the 4 26's is finding a quality 40" that wont be grainy during game play and one that can keep up.

am aware that i cant run 4 gtx690s on SLI but i can run two.
my question is i do alot of 3d rendering and would like to start folding again. The extra two gtx690's would still give me a leaps and bounds advantage in rendering and folding correct?
