What screen resolution are you using?

I recommend a 26". 1920x1200, but at a larger physical size and higher pixel pitch. I had the same problem as you with 21" and 24" LCDs; using a res other than native makes everything blurry, and raising the dpi screws up icons, menus, layout, etc. At 26", you can use native and leave dpi at...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

I did the same thing. CDW costs a bit more, but it was worth it since I got to keep my pick of 3 Planars.

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Where did you order it from? If from NewEgg, then call them and tell them you bought the monitor for a specific purpose and it simply will not work for that purpose. So instead, you want to send it back and buy another monitor from them that costs alot more. I did this a few months ago (NEC...

He meant response time, not input lag. ;)

    Planar PX2611W 26"

AFAIK, 5ms gtg/12ms is fast for an IPS. The NEC 20WMGX2 was 6ms, and the 2490 and 2690 are 8ms gtg/16ms.

    DoubleSight DS-265W Official discussion!

They will exchange it, as long as you don't say its because of the stuck pixel. Find something else wrong with it and tell them that. Worked for me with a 24" a few months ago.

The Planar is H-IPS. S-IPS is the older panel type.

    DoubleSight DS-265W Official discussion!

I don't like Doublesight's record so far because of sloppiness like the missing ports...but if this monitor comes with the A-TW polarizer and the same low lag as the 263 and the Planar, then IMO its the LCD to buy. There's no point in even shopping around unless you need the pro features of the...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

Planar vs. 263 w/o polarizer = same panel, same gamut. Planar vs. 263 w/polarizer = 263 is better. As for the missing ports, who knows what it means? Not even Doublesight most likely.

    Planar PX2611W 26"

I saw your photos of the NEC vs. the Planar, and I would definitely prefer the polarizer...but compared to every other compromise you have to make to own any non-IPS, or even other IPSs with twice the lag, I feel its relatively minor. If the DS has it, then its the LCD to buy. But not all...

    Planar PX2611W 26"

The H-IPS white glow is greatly exaggerated, and in any case, is still much better than the color and contrast shift on TNs and VAs, or even the "colored glow" on older IPSs. Its only visible at extreme viewing angles or in the very corners if you're sitting too close. Once I adjusted height...

He obviously has lag and response time confused, so I'd wait for a real lag test.

Get the Planar 26" or wait for the new Doublesight?

    1. Where did you get it? If it was CDW, exchange it and have the new one cross-shipped. No problem, no charge. For what these things cost, you should be completely satisified. 2. In text mode, leave contrast at 50 and turn brightness down to 25 or less (Toasty recommended 12.5). Turn...
