What screen resolution are you using?
I recommend a 26". 1920x1200, but at a larger physical size and higher pixel pitch. I had the same problem as you with 21" and 24" LCDs; using a res other than native makes everything blurry, and raising the dpi screws up icons, menus, layout, etc. At 26", you can use native and leave dpi at... -

AFAIK, 5ms gtg/12ms is fast for an IPS. The NEC 20WMGX2 was 6ms, and the 2490 and 2690 are 8ms gtg/16ms. -

Planar vs. 263 w/o polarizer = same panel, same gamut. Planar vs. 263 w/polarizer = 263 is better. As for the missing ports, who knows what it means? Not even Doublesight most likely. -
