Dell 2405FPW - opinion after 4 days
I had mine 2405 for 3 weeks, and I love it. I have not found anything that I don't like about the monitor. It came perfect, no noises or dead pixels ... no backlight problems. I was a bit unsure about the extreme brightness at first, but after playing with settings, adjusting picture warmth... -

Dell 2005fpw...cannot adjust contrast?
I use DVI and my contract is locked out as well, but not brightness. However, you video card drivers should give you the ability to tinker with that. I know NVidia allows that; I suspect ATI as well. ib. -

I didn't particularly care for the colors myself ... it tended to be "reddish", or warm. I changed the "Color Settings" in the OSD to "User Presetset" at the default 50 accross the 3 colors ... that was more to my personal liking. ib. -

Did you try removing all your input drivers, and the monitor drives, and reinstalling them? ib. -

just got my 2405 today...
I think you are experiencing a common enough affliction ... I believe happens to all of us making transition from CRT to LCD. When I first started working on LCD, my eyes felt the same. Now, they're used to it. I move between CRT and LCD without a problem, but now, I seem to notice the CRT... -
