I paid about $60 for a Silicon Power 2TB SSD just under 3 years ago on Amazon. It was in my youngest son's PC as a game drive and died after just over 2 years. I migrated him to a 2TB m.2 nvme drive and just unplugged the 2TB drive... promptly forgot about it. Was in his system a couple of weeks...
It worked!
Odd that they would not add that "minor" detail of flipping the bios switch back to the main bios while flashing from the backup in the docs anywhere. Flashed to the newest BIOS and let it reboot with the BIOS switch in the main BIOS position... magic!
You sir are a steely eyed...
New CPU just arrived so I'm going to get back into it this week. That's interesting. When I had a CPU in it, I could get into the flash utility from the backup BIOS and it claims to reflash the main bios successfully. While in the utility it asks if you want to flash the backup BIOS as well and...
I can do that currently thru the backup BIOS. Issue is I don't wanna take any chances with it as it's the only one that works. If I can get the main BIOS up and running I'll update the backup too.
I'll take it. Low power and cool.. I like it.
I should stop playing with it but. . . last bump got me "Legendary" for a 5070. Is this like having the fastest lawnmower on the block?
^^ One oddity I am noticing is the power draw. With the power limit at +120% and the above core/mem settings I see core voltages (with heavy GPU usage) range from 1.060 to 1.070. But the max peak wattage spike I've seen is about 215w, norm range is much lower 195w to 205w. From what I'm reading...
So I picked up an ASUS Prime 5070 from B&H a few weeks back due to drama with my 3080ti meeting an early death. Slapped a water block on it due to... reasons... and went about my business.
Circling back to some light overclocking. Without adding any volts I was able to get over 6k in the Steel...
