is 45degrees idle and 65degrees under load ok for stock
p4 800fsb 3.2ghz? lots of people on here freakin' out at anything
over 50degrees...
i've heard that later p4's run hotter anyways.. but would like
to know you guys opinions... thanks alot.
ok cheers for the response
but am i going to HAVE to cool the southbridge if i want to
do any overclocking? or can i disable on board sound and go
with my much unloved audigy ?
Hi - whenever i'm oc'ing my 3.2 p4 to 3.4 the sound craps out
in games / media player etc... some helpful guys on here
told me to try slapping a heatsink on the south bridge - this
should sort it out - well i was wondering if things would be
fine n'dandy if i was to disable on board sound...
ok i have a spare heatsink - but how do i get it to stay on the chip with no mounts?? - or would enough thermal gloop hold
it in place?
cheers for your replies
hi i'm having sound probs with media player/games etc when i oc my 3.2 p4 to 3.5ghz.. i'm using an abit ic7-g mboard...with onboard sound chips..
according to a fella on here, further cooling to the north/southbridge sorted it out for him.
can anybody expand upon this ?? ie which bridge would...
thanks for the replies guys...
yes pci / agp is locked.. but the sound is onboard...
has anybody else tried increasing cooling measures on the
north/south bridges as im interested that the dude who posted
here earlier fixed this prob that way...
mucho appreciated
i hope somebody can help me out here ...
i've oc'd my 3.2 p4 to 3.4ghz.. but i'm getting intermittent
sound in games / media player etc... (sound board is built into
mb...)
i'm sure it has to be a power prob... i'm running at 1.6v cpu core
at the mo and cpu temp is fine at 55degrees ...
