Interesting hdd cage but it's missing the main thing. The error led. You're supposed to trigger an error led when you have a bad hdd, to know what hdd to take out. Otherwise, you might as well use no cage at all.
Hmm, so either I have to go matx with a bigger case than fits on a shelf in my storage room or I have to use windows server if want KVM. And I want KVM, the main purpose of this server is is just so I can move the hdd noise to the storage room and use just ssd in my two fanless HTPC's in the...
Thanks for the answers _Gea.
Damn!! I want KVM so I have to use windows server or get another motherboard. Is there a cheap way to do that with virtualization? I don't trust a windows machine as my firewall / router solution.
So what do I do. Use windows8/server without a bare metal...
I want to make a mini personal server and to learn about virtualization.
I have a Jetway mini itx Q67 motherboard with a Xeon E3 1260L CPU with 6 sata ports and I want to use them all for storage (6x4tb) raid-z2.
The PCI express slot will be used for a 4 port intel gigabit network card...
Hello!
I've decided to build a personal server for storage because I don't want to use a HDD in my system anymore - it's fanless.
So far I have: Xeon 1260L, 4GB DDR3 (can go as high as 16GB if it's necessary). Jetway NF9A-Q67 itx board (6 sata, 2 Intel LAN, staggered hdd power-up and all...
So, I have a fanless HFX case and I need a motherboard that looks like this:
1. It has two perpendicular SATA3 headers (not angled - unless the board is under 24cm wide, then it can have angled SATA headers). This is a physical limitation, the sata connectors bump into the PSU if they're...
The retina display makes it more comfortable to read stuff on it, especially if you have good eyes.
But the actual best thing about it is the lemmings effect apple creates, more high-res IPS display will follow. in actually useful tablets and monitors. :)
Of course it can, OLED is basically perfect at contrast and viewing angles but less impressive if you're a stickler over color accuracy. The settings they choose are "popping" instead of accurate. :)
Did you bend it?
I'm thinking of using a Spitfire or a HR03 in a HFX classic case, I need to bend them to fit over the CPU area but lower, so I can put the case top over them. :)
I created this thread to have a list of available LED backlight monitors, for easy reference ...
Please feel free to add any model you know of, especially the ones with premium panels.
The only one I know of is the Apple Macbook only 24" Cinema Display
