    While my SSD was connected to the mobo's built-in SATA II controller, I tried the DFC Latency Checker while and ran AS SSD Benchmark. There were no issues!! The maximum latency that it reached was about 126us which is in the green zone!.

    I did not expect to go from SATA II (3Gbps) to SATA III (6Gbps) for only a 5% increase in performance! (Ands that is irrespective of the money vs. performance issue!!) So how is that unrealistic?? Perhaps I am missing the point here!!

    Just tried the HighPoint Rocket 620. Hate to say that the results were not impressive at all. The score went from 390 to 420. I will post a screen shot soon. For now I am going to look for a different adapter!!

    No worries. I bought it based on my own calculations and usually don't mind paying to get the best but perhaps i went a bit too far this time!! And very likely that i would have kept had it worked but for some reason it was not working on my MB!! Good luck with yours as well!
