I have had the Acer X27 since inception (2018) and have it alongside my XG321UG. Only 384 zones but I still use it about 50% of the time (mostly for browsing/productivity while I game on the larger display) because the larger display can be too...
So the X27 had a fan and I was able to enter the service menu and lower the fan speeds significantly such that it was not audible. The temps were ok as well from what I remember. Likely you can do the same with the ASUS but not 100% sure...
I mean, I find for most SDR games I just turn on the FALD dimming and it gets 90% of the way there to having good OLED blacks. Doesn't have the motion clarity, of course, but it does well enough at everything I'm going to stick with it for this...
It's really annoying switching between two displays based on use case. Even more annoying is getting a setup in terms of space/placement correctly to best accommodate both.
People want an all around spectacular single display solution but this...
