    If i use a hp sas expander in fileserver 2, (it has mobo and psu and i'm using it as a server) What will happen if i shut it down. The expander will lose power of course. Will drives drop out off my raid then ?

    I have 2 fileserevers in two xcase RM 424 cases. In fileserver 1 i have the areca card. it's filled up with 24 drives now. To save some money is it possible to use a sas expander in fileserver 2. Or is it a bad idea?
