So, it appears 1024x768 is the max thru S-video but the lowere 800x600 looks more sharp.. Should I bother with a component video card? Will the higher resolution improve the image quality?

Tried that but, the 2405FPW still wouldn't sync up to the S-video resolution being put out by the card. Do you happen to know the max resolution that an S-video cable can carry or the resolution that the monitor will accpept via S-video?
