Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Your motherboard is one that does not display the "Press any key to boot from CD", as long as you have a bootable CD and your boot priority is set to CD, then your computer will automatically boot from CD. You're actually on the right track, the "Setup in inspecting your computers hardware...
Right. Maybe my example wasn't so relevant to motherboards. But how about new features? HDMI? DDR3? Wireless USB? These might not seem like much right now, but when every new motherboard comes with these features, you might just begin to see where I'm going with this.
If you go with AMD, don't bother with 939 anymore. Even though AM2 doesn't really provide much(if any at all) performance enhancement over 939 parts, the prices are virtually the same right now. 939 is nearing EOL, AM2 is the way to go if you decide to go AMD. Either way though, wait another 2...
I tend to disagree, have you ran a Conroe-based system yourself?
Just about any intensive application/game, you WILL see better performance with a Conroe compared to even a top of the line AM2. And btw, I base my opinion on first hand experience, not just what some benchmarks on some review site.
Cause K8L isn't coming for maybe another year, and 12 months is nearly 2 full product cycles(read: around 2 generations of new chipsets). Putting a K8L into a current AM2 motherboard is equivalent to putting a Geforce 4 into a current AM2 motherboard(ok you can't, and maybe that's pushing it...
I vote the Hauppauge also, I've owned their 150,250,500,USB2 tuners, and all of them delivered high image quality compared to other tuners on the market. Only complaint is that their drivers can sometimes be a *itch to install, but once you get it working, they work flawlessly.
I say hold off for just 2 more weeks, as Intel's Conroe(Core 2 Duo) CPU's are coming out, and they're definitely worth the wait. Even if you don't buy them, all AMD CPU's still plunge in price in response to the Conroe release.
You can find some sneak previews of the Conroe's online. My home...
Unless you have memory like TCCD(DDR1) or equivalent high-clocking DDR2 memory, the 1:1 will only limit your CPU clock speed, which will DEFINITELY affect performance. My advice, run whatever divider you need to attain the as high as possible a clockspeed for your CPU, because that is what...
It has nothing to do with software/windows at all. The "safe mode" he speaks of is simply a feature on this Asus motherboard, which loads a previously working configuration to allow the system to boot up after a bad overclocking attempt. It is NOT the Window's Safe Mode that you're thinking of...
