Over at Vr-Zone they got their i7-3770K (ES) clocked to a stable 4.7Ghz and did a shootout comparing the i7-2600K and the i7-3960X at the same clock speed.
Its my assumption that 4.7ghz on the 3770k was all that they could manage on the beta bios because the other two can clock higher than...
This hasnt been brought up yet, but another problem with stacking both the DVI and Power inputs is that you cant make a single slot reference card using a third party water block. :(
The DVI you could get around but the power input would require more work. You would have to unsolder the...
The 4 display outputs has me really hoping for native NV Surround out of the box. :D
Im sure either the HDMI or DP are tied to one of the stacked DVI outputs, so in reality it will only have a maximum output of 3 monitors, but still its hell of an improvement over the previous generations...
Why wasnt there a torture test run?
I seem to remember the past two X79 ASRock boards survived being thrown in an oven and survived but yet still failed to get any kind of nod of approval.
I agree that the pcie aux 4 pin power connector placement is RETARDED. Even if...
I think you guys need to get over those boards of the past and take another look at whats in front of you. :(
Sure you may have had problems with ASrock in the past, but you know who hasnt had a problem with EVERY mobo manufacturer in the past?
Hell Asus, Gigabyte and MSI all had periods...
The key here is lack of competition at the moment.
When Nvidia has no competition they charge obscene prices as they did in the past with the 7800GTX.
When there is competition in the market we see prices fall fast.
AMD I believe has taken the high road here and priced the 7970 far...

To those that think VGA\DVI will still be around in 5 years you are correct
BUT
What the article is talking about is new consumer products being manufactured and I think they are right to a degree.
There will ofcourse be legacy adaptors and products available, but the bulk of what is...
Since all the cards are reference boards they are all made at the same place.
The only thing the manufacturers do is slap on their own branding on the heatsink
I believe the Z68 boards were manufactured at a different place.
It would explain the differences in build quality.
Also you briefly mentioned that you are currently reviewing the Extreme9 and didnt bring up any build differences.
With that said though I am eagerly waiting to see your...
Cant wait for the custom editions to be released.
Kudos though to those who plurge on the reference boards. I would probably pickup a LC sink as soon as I could and really overclock this bad boy to 1.3Ghz+
I saw that too just now.
Is powercolor anygood? I saw they made a couple of unique cards for the 6000 series but never heard much about them.
Prefer Sapphire myself.
