I'm currently using the Microsoft ergonomic Wireless Natural Multimedia Keyboard for about the last 6 or 7 years.
I've loved this keyboard since I've had it and it still works great.
But I plan on building a new computer soon and figured I'd upgrade the keyboard as well.
I was going to get...
Trying to build a custom case and the power supply I'm looking at is almost 8"
I was wondering if it's still 100% reliable for a power supply to lay on its side or if it will diminsh it's life/cooling function and needs to lay on its base?
So I've been running 2 Asus video cards to work 3 monitors for years now. but I'm confused as I don't think I'm doing it via SLI, but continuously see references to multiple cards & SLI.
They all run separate of each other, make one display/desktop, but they do not mirror each other.
So...
So just sticking my toe into watercooling, I need to know what pieces of hardware need/should/could be water cooled.
The two obvious I can think of are:
Processor
Graphics card
But what about the memory sticks? Is there a watercooling setup for that? Is it needed?
What about SSDs...
Looking to do a build with an ASRock extreme4 mobo and Intel 5820k processor.
Has 8 channels and goes up to 128 max.
I honestly probably only need 8g, but will probably go up to 16g just to get frisky.
Obviously DDR4 is expensive and I'd like to get into this new build as cheap as...
What Motherboard companies offer their bios with a ATA Password ability to do a FDE on an SSD?
Been reading as much as I can and it seems the ASRock Extreme6 Z97 may be the only one?
Anyone know of any other mobos that offer a bios with ATA password?
I plan on getting an Intel hexacore...
That's what I meant by trying to use/stay true/become familiar with one encryption program for two different OS - that they would be on separate and dedicated Samsung 850 Pro SSDs. (hopefully the best, something better than truecrypt which I was using before and clearly had holes in it)
Is bit...
I planned on having Ubuntu and win7 on their own separate SSDs, does that eliminate the problem of bit locker not understanding the different OS if I had intended did to have them on a single SSD?
Which encryption program is the best to lock down SSD for Ubuntu & Win7 OS & HDD for media?
I've used truecrypt in the past but it's clearly been compromised.
Is bit locker the best or is there something better?
I'm not opposed to a paid program but free is always nice.
Do I need to...
I appreciate everyone's help and advice. Let's keep it civil so we don't get this thread locked.
A few things to help clarify:
It was local PD, but a large enough city they have enough resources to have probably anything at their finger tips. But the feds are not involved.
Computer was...
Just looked my mobo only supports 3gb/sec
I'm gonna call Amazon and just have them give me the evo. Not worth the extra money if my computer can take advantage of it.
Then again the pro comes with a 10 year warranty vs 5 for evo... That alone is almost with the $20 price difference.
Can my computer/mobo even take advantage if the 850 Pro read/write speeds?

Or should I just go with the 850 evo and save a few bucks? . I...
