    New MSI RX9800

Short answers. Overdrive is disabled, cannot be enabled. Tempsensoring is sported by the chip, MSI has disabled it, cannot be enabled. You cannot flash it into an XT cause no regular bios works for the card. The only bios that does work is the Medion 9800XXL.

    9800pro VGA silencer and shim

Generally speaking, the 9800-cards doesn't need their shim removed cause the core is higher. There's exceptions i guess considering saturnine2's post.

    Nvidia heading toward bankruptcy?

LOL.. this ment to be a joke? With the release of the 6800 i seriously doubt the will go bankrupt.

    MSI RX9800 Pro

There's only 1 bios that works for this card afaik and that's the Medion XXL bios. If you look at your card's pcb, you'll find a small green sticker that says "made in china". Look behind it and you'll discover that the card is a Medion with a MSI bios on it. Overdrive is disabled, can't be...

    AC VGA Silencer + 9800Pro Assembly part 2 :(

I think i read through all of those yesterday.. I'm still not sure what the problem is for me. It could be the supplied AGP-bracket (vga silencer) perhaps? Not allowing the card to be perfectly seated? I'll try with a different psu tomorrow. The thing is.. it works fine (no artifacts...

    AC VGA Silencer + 9800Pro Assembly part 2 :(

Yes.. since i've installed 2 of them (first one broke.. or the clip did). It is making proper contact cause the heatsink gets hot.

    AC VGA Silencer + 9800Pro Assembly part 2 :(

Argh! After the assembly i'm having issues with artifacts / anomolies during cold boots.. i.e when the system has been shutdown for 8-9 hours and then turned on. Manifests itself in the bios / post sequence aswell as in windows.. Instead of typing it all again i'll just copy and paste from...

    VGA Silencer: My Review

The heatsink does the job but the fan was way too loud for me. I'm not a big fan of those highpitch squels if you know what i mean. Could've been a bad fan though. The vga silencer is pretty cheap where i live, about $13, of course i had to get 2 cause the first one broke on me.. :( Here's...

    VGA Silencer: My Review

English isn't my native language obviously but i find your post rather confusing and contradicting, here's why.. The metal clip is about 1mm thick and the screws rest on the clip, so if you screw until the screws + washers touch the pcb.. well, the clip would touch the washers aswell. But you...

    VGA Silencer: My Review

Well.. went to the local dealer and bought me a new silencer.. this time i made damn sure i didn't break the clip. So far (touch wood) so good. Still haven't tried any games.. wanna let the paste get adjusted first.. The card is an MSI Radeon 9800Pro aka Medion Radeon 9800XXL and it's using...

    VGA Silencer: My Review

Sorry to bring up an old thread but i've installed the VGA Silencer (rev2) to my MSI Radeon 9800pro and i'm having one major issue with it and that's the blue cover / metal clip.. I think i broke it while screwing it onto the card. It's supposed to bend according to the instructions, but the...
