    For the uses you've stated so far, an i5 would be fine. If you tend to keep your computers a while before upgrading, then I'd suggest going with the i7.

    The desk should not wobble. Is it on carpet? If so, maybe it'll wobble a bit. Find whatever screws are loose and tighten them.

    I'd re-seat the RAM (try only a single stick) and CPU. if those don't work, pull everything out of the case... http://hardforum.com/showpost.php?p=1033078594&postcount=3 If the barebone bench test didn't help, it's probably a failed mobo/cpu. do you have another stick of ram you could try?
