From what i've experienced/read 3.7 - 3.9 should be doable without changing any other setting than the multiplier - i had a crash at 3.9 (auto volt) so rolled it back a little and it's been rock solid. I think a few sites have gotten 4.0/4.1 with manual voltage though. Thermals aren't really a...
B450i Aorus Pro Wifi, 3.8Ghz all core (all two of them :p) oc was really simple, set and forget. It could probably go a little higher but i'll wait until i feel liking playing around with voltages a bit to give it a try.
A lot of boards can do it, for gigabyte check the bios note "Improve...
It's a bit of fun to OC as well. I have one as a placeholder in an itx system and i was surprised how happy i was with it for light gaming/web browser/etc.
Is there a Threadripper 'board that can actually do that? All the boards seem to use 12 lanes for m2 and split the rest into 2x16 + 2x8 (or 3x16 for the taichi matx).
I noticed a slight misalignment with my O11D as well (with an asus zenith board). From your picture/description mine is off in the opposite direction - the expansion slot screws are just a little too far away from the bracket on the installed cards. It hasn't been enough to cause problems for me...
i was considering picking up a cheap mining board but ultimately couldn't think of a use case for it.
Used enterprise gear is still way better value for a NAS like you're considering - using a few $20-50 perc/mellanox cards can get the same basic functionality with any old 3/4 pci-e slot intel...
This just happened to my Blackwidow V2 a week or so ago with a cup of black tea. I immediately disassembled it as much as i could (didn't do the metal plate + pcb assembly), dried it as much as i could then left it a few days and it was fine. Maybe you got unlucky but pulling it apart you might...
I had the same error 9 problem with reflect cloning a drive for my brother last week, tried another random disk cloning program (aomei backerupper or something?) and that worked fine. Might be a bug with the current version of reflect.
Note about durability: my little brother bought a pair of the zero's and i've had to repair them a few times due to the mount of the cup's swivel bracket failing. first one ear, then the second, then the first again when my adhoc fix failed :p
It's only a few minute fix to cut a new bushing...
