Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
From what I am told, here in Pittsburgh, PA being M$ certified ONLY is a one-way ticket to Palookaville (referencing a movie before you were born, sorry).
Apparently, in this town, you do Unix/Linux or you perform penny-ante service calls to clean viruses from M$ desktops. So did you go to a...
I assume that some of you make a living in IT or something related, so here is my question: I am a 48 year-old Linux enthusiast and I am considering going back to school and getting certified on Linux/Unix OS. I understand that at my age, I would be a dinosaur, so I was considering being an...
I have a dual boot computer (ubuntu and Mint) IMHO, Mint is the way to go for newbs. Unbuntu is suppose to come out with a 32bit distro with all the w32codecs and libs in place, but Mint has it now.
Mint is set up to LOOK and FEEL like windows, so there isn't much of a learning curve.
Ubuntu...
I just ran LINUXMINT off the CD. It is basically Ubuntu with all the java/wmv codecs already in place, which is a royal pain in the a@@, but this is not the OS's fault. Blame M$ and others for keeping their codecs propriatary to WINDOZE in the US.
The full version of LINUXMINT tecnically...
I switched to Ubuntu from Windows 98, which I had on an old PC that I hadn't used in a few years.
I had 384meg of ram (3x128m which was quite adequate for the use you describe. Download the 32 bit version (Dapper Drake) and see if you can get your problem hardware (wireless) out of the way...
I currently have Ubuntu Dapper-Drake on an old PC that only had a 10g drive. I have a "new to me" 80g drive on the way, so I backed up my files, settings and packages on a slave drive. My plan was to reload the Ubuntu distro on the new 80g drive and restore my settings and files (something that...
Ubuntu runs from a CD before you install, so if you have obvious and immediate issues such as the monitor, mouse, keyboard and internet not working, you can find this out before you install. It was quite kewl for me to pop in a CD and surprise, surprise, a few minutes later, there is was...
I took the challenge to go Windoze free (same challenge recently made here by Jason Wall) and I have been 100% windoze free for 60 days. Here's my desktop.
