Antec EDGE 750W Power Supply Lucky Draw

I like Antec PSU's. After five years, it's time for another.

    ASRock Z77 Extreme4 LGA 1155 Motherboard Review @ [H]

Dan said "I’d still opt for a nicer board if I was buying an LGA1155 board for myself." OK. For under $200, what boards would you get instead?

Antec Eleven Hundred Chassis Review @ [H]

Typical Antec. They force you to use the top fan position as an exhaust. No hope for trying to create a wind tunnel with a top intake. The thing is too inflexible. They want you to create a vacuum cleaner with no bag by requiring you to use a negative pressure setup. No thanks, Antec.

NVIDIA Enters Retail with Direct Sales at Best Buy @ [H]

Please forgive me for asking, but what does A. I. B. Stand for? I can think of some words that fit, but they're not polite. Thanks.

    Best case fan?

I tested 65 fans in 112 setups on a Megahalems at 4GHz, reported here. Assuming the two fans you use together do not draw more than one amp, you can put them on a Y-cable and let the MB's cpu heatsink control them. If the fans total more than 1 amp, you can put them on separate headers, or on...

PCI-E vs. SATA 6GB/s Bandwith Bottleneck

We have the same mb, cpu. And I have Ripjaws DDR3-2000's (cheaper last year). I would also like to see what folks come up with.

    Looking into new heatsinks...

so, there you have it: a new case and a Noctua NH-D14 - the best for silence and cooling.

Best way to situate a heatpipe tower? Facing rear or top?

According to Benchmark Reviews (in their latest quarterly heatsink roundup), a heatsink like the Megahalems or Armageddon would work best pointing up or down. A heatsink like the Noctua NH-D14 or the Cogage Arrow would work best either east-west or west east. Their theory is that the heatpipes...

    Dell Inspiron HSF

Since you're going to put a hole in the desk and not the computer, you might wish to put an AC fan in there. Something like this.

    140mm Case Fans

Y'know, with your problems from undervolting, you might have an issue with your voltage controller. I have a variety of cheap slot types, which cause issues with a number of fans. I have also read that some not-cheap front-mounted fan controllers have issues. They are not simple rheostats. I...

I agree. That's why I measured their performance - sound and cooling.

Need CFM/Noise reference for Scythe GT/S-Flex/Slipstream

This is the spec sheet Japan Servo provides to industry on their Gentle Typhoon fans. The thing about selling to industry is that your specs had better be accurate. My own SPL testing on the 1450 and 1850 rpm fans track their specs closely. As for CFM, I tested the GT 1850 on my i7 860 at...

Another week or so in my own testing before I get to them. Anyone else?

    An Alternative to Coolermaster?

Lucky you. If only we had a computer store anywhere near where I live. By computer store I do not mean Best Buy.

Question regarding 120mm fans, particularly Scythe

From 1600 rpm and down, the Slipstream doesn't sound very loud to me. I can say more when i have tested it with my SPL meter.
