I don't use Gsync. Never saw the need for it pushing a consistent ~ 120 fps at 4k. Game mode has lower input lag with it off than any other mode. It may only be 3-4 ms but in competitive shooters, it is noticeable.

HDR in Windows looks weird to me. I don't think they ever fixed it on PC. On console it might be better? Game mode on my CX looks very desaturated, and there's nothing you can do to get the colors any closer to one of the other modes. I was always ok playing games in game mode on my Kuro...

    LG 48CX

Coming from an Aorus 43 VA panel, this monitor has been quite the adjustment. I have a history with high end plasmas and after that, LG OLEDs, for console gaming. But when I switched to PC, I started getting into 43 inch 4k monitors, and there are only a couple of the 120hz variety. All of...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I understand that. I've competitively gamed on tvs from 32-65 inches. One of the buggers for TVs in general though is that PQ modes will affect input lag. I have to have the TV in Sports mode to enjoy the slightly hyped colors and better brightness in games like Destiny 2. That raises the input...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I confirmed my own suspicions--the Aorus is definitely faster. Went out and bought a refurbished CX from Microcenter for $999 because I couldn't keep the Aorus without satisfying my curiosity. It's an amazing TV but I'm not sure it's a better computer monitor. I absolutely love the picture...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Did the firmware update fail at any time? Also, did you have it on a usb stick?

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

How did you go about updating? I used the usb 3.0 cable that came with the monitor, connected to my computer's 3.0 input. I got the sidekick to open and selected the unzipped file location for the F04 beta firmware. The transfer looked like it was working, and took about 6 minutes, after which...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

I think you're just shitting on lcd tech, as the aorus is definitely one of the faster va panels I've tried. Sure, everything else except brightness is better on the CX but that's to be expected. If you're looking for a 43 inch monitor right now, this is the best one, plain and simple! (Coming...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

The color or brightness of what's being displayed onscreen should have no impact on the input response (aka amount of input lag in milliseconds). I'm guessing your interpretation is likely being affected by what your eyes are perceiving as less black blur on the OLED in mid-dark scenes and this...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Pixel response? Definitely. Shadow said 'input response'. I don't see how that can be true unless there's something introducing more input lag on the Aorus when it's in HDR mode or has a certain setting turn on. The input lag on the CX is low for a tv but I have a hard time believing it's...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Response? That's still very vague to me. As I pointed out early, the professional reviews have the Aorus with lower input lag. I'm not sure if this is affected by settings or using HDR. Can you use a non-HDR picture mode and compare the 'response'?

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

It all comes down to if it's marketed as a monitor or a tv. If it's a tv, then their claims about being able to make a 42 for cheap could bear fruit for the consumer. If it's a monitor, they will upcharge the absolute bejeezus out of it for a handful of features that make monitors better for...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

Makes you wonder if lg would be stupid to sell a 42 inch OLED for ~$1,000. Answer, they would, and spoilers, they won't--remember that massive decrease in the price of oleds we were promised? I'm still sitting with my B6 opel that I bought new and soon after release from Best Buy at $1300. Oh...

    GIGABYTE AORUS FV43U 43 inch 4k 144 HDR1000 QLED monitor

That's odd on the input lag side of things. Only thought could be the hdr has higher input lag? Regardless, I would think the aorus would still be lower. Monitornerds measured it at 5 Ms at 144hz. I thought it felt faster than my Asus 4k120hz 43 which was measured between 6 and 10ms. The lg is...
