Official Dell 2407WFP Thread - Reviews, Revisions, Screenies

My CRT is all juddering so I think it may be on its last legs, so I'm looking for a replacement. I had a 2405FPW last year and that was pretty great, so I'm looking at this and wondering if its still a great option? How is it for games, films, windows browsing/work and has all the banding e.t.c...

"Hanger of Doom" gameplay video (UE3 enigne)

Might have been answered but in response to Terra's "- Sphere-sphere collisions: 530 Million/sec max" in response to the havok stuff doing 20,000 odd objects, linky So... yeah not the same thing. I personally hope that both Physics things just die now. After seeing Crysis' great use of...

Why the Graphics Physics Name Should Die

I worry about the level of Quality in Havok FX. ATi allows you to use lower powered cards alongside higher ones which leads too the ability to have a X1900 for your graphics and a X1600 for physics. However Havok were saying before "Oh you can get some physics running it ona GPU but you get the...

    Havok FX & the 7950GX2

I have a question, the 7950GX2, does it work just the same as 2 cards in SLI? So you could buy one of these and have your GPU for graphics and your GPU for physics on the same card? I know this is a pretty n00btacular question but I'd like someone to clarify, as these cards aren't much more than...

    Tim Sweeney on the PPU

TBH, I'm seeing great and well implemented Physics in games like Crytek, and even the Source game Dark Messiah of Might and Magic which is using old Havok looks like it has great use of Physics in the gameplay that I'm wondering about the PPU. I could see it go so that gameplay Physics remains...

Want a Widescreen Monitor! Advice Required!

OK, well last year I bought a 2405FPW, and loved it. I sold it though, as I needed a new TV as my old one dies a couple of months after I got the monitor and needed the money. A few months later I got the money back for another one, but then saw that there would be the 2407FPW, so I've been...

Is it the new DELL 2707FPW? (LTM270M1 panel)

I can't help but think that that 3000:1 ratio is like the Samsung LCD TV's that have a "Dynamic" Contrast ratio which was like 3000 on slighlty older sets, and 5000 on the newer ones, but it sucks as all it does is make the screen lighter or darker depending on what was displayed on the screen...
