Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
Hi all,
I just ordered some new parts for my computer (Gigabyte GA-EP35 DS3L mobo, E8400 c2d, 9600 GT video card, and 2 gigs of ram) and I was wondering if there were going to be any install problems/conflicts that I haven't forseen yet. My current setup is in my sig... as far as my...
What chair do you use? Anyone out there with some exceptionally unique chair that you just downright adore? I've always used a standard high-back cloth (aka cheap) chair with armrests from wal-mart, and sorta want to invest in something that I'll thoroughly enjoy. My wife just bought one of...
I just put built my first computer (in sig) and all went well, except that windows doesn't seem to see one of my hard drives. When I installed them, I just plugged the SATA power connectors from the PSU into them, and then the other SATA connectors from them to the MB. They're in SATA slots 1...
I think you need to re-read my reply to your original post. You are *not* going to run 1t with 512x4. A64 memory controllers can't handle it, and I seriously doubt P4 ones will be able to either.
Actually, my understanding of the matter is that even though 1gb sticks will by necessity have higher timings, the memory controllers in the latest CPUs (at least for A64s... not 100% positive about P4s) aren't capable of handling 4 sticks at 1t. I've never heard of anyone getting 1t with 4...
Yea, I think you're right, it looks like the HDD is dying. I looked into the admin tools in control panel and found a *ton* of disk errors, dating back to my last reformat (no doubt it started well before that, because I reformated that time due to this problem). I'm hoping the hard drive will...
Disregard my sig, this is concerning my laptop, which is:
p4 3.0ghz (northwood)
uniwill MB w/ SiS chipset
512x2 ddr ram @ 166 mhz, 2.5, 3, 3, 7
60gb hdd
Lately it's been running everything extraordinarily slowly, and its startup time is abymsal (it pushes 10 minutes, no joke - when it...
nabbed riddick & joint ops - t:v sucks, go download tribes2 for free, there are still some people who play it online and it's a fun game once you get used to jetpacking
um, if you have 3k, why don't you just spend about $1500 now (more than enough to get a top of the line system since you already have a lot of stuff) and save the other 1500 for upgrades down the road? just seems more logical to me... top of the line current gen stuff will last you for next gen...
Thanks for all of the comments - one quick question: If I went with the OCZ VX gold edition ram and kicked the voltage up to 3.2-3.5 for OCing reasons, the ram would probably need some extra cooling, right? If so, is there any way to accomplish this without having to make modifications to my...
Thanks a ton for the response - I'll definitely go for the HSF and other HD you rec'd. Regarding the memory, quoting from the DFI user manual for the lanparty ut nf4 ultra-d mb:
"The integrated memory control in AMD's 64-bit Socket 939 series CPU will directly catch data transmission from...
Um, have you been to www.monarchcomputer.com ? They have a better reseller rating than any of the sites you've mentioned so far, they have a *much* better parts selection, and are cheaper all around...
For the past month or so I've been browsing forums & reading (at the exclusion of a rather large amount of studying...) a lot about parts for a new gaming-enthusiast computer which I hope to put together as soon as I get back home from school (studying abroad in the UK from the US, they get out...
