Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I didn't measure it, but eyeballing it tells me that there's about two centimeters clearance between the top of my NH-D14 and the fan grill. The SB-E will probably fit, but I can't be 100% sure. I wish I had more certain news for you.
By all that is right and holy in this world, you are correct, and I stand corrected. I looked at the wrong line on the specs chart.
I'd have to look and see how much clearance I have in mine to answer definitively, which I can do this evening if no one has yet.
I finally got my system (in .sig) completed, and initial impressions are... wow.
When I first powered it up, I have to tell you it scared the bejeezus out of me. I couldn't hear anything! I rushed around to the side to make sure all the fans were actually running, prepared to unplug it...
I would love to see some CFM specs on the stock fans. I'm looking to get a positive pressure with about 10-20cfm more pulling in than pushing out. I've not been able to find specs on the CMPSU-1200AX fan to see what it's contributing, but if I knew what the stock 550D fans were providing, I...
I don't know about Redbeard, but I'd like to see what you did there.
I just added some Master felt pads to the top edge of the sound dampening foam, and though that side panel is a little bit tight now because the pads are a little too thick, there's no more rattling to speak of.
I've got the build nearly complete, with the exception of mounting the CPU Cooler. The Noctua NH-D14 requires a conversion kit for the LGA2011 socket, and that's still in the mail. That didn't stop me from getting the rest of it together, though... Pics are here.
A couple of things to note...
Mine arrived today about half an hour ago, along with the rest of my components, save a conversion kit for the cpu cooler.
It is with a sad, yet not despairing heart that I must say that I'm the recipient of a "Rattling Side Panel". I think, as other have noted, that it's an easy fix using...
You know, I've never bought Corsair before. It's not that I've avoided the products, it's just that I've found what I was looking for elsewhere. In this new build, I've got a Corsair 550D, and a Corsair CMPSU-1200AX. If the above post by Redbeard is any indication of the kind of customer...
I went into a car dealership recently with that sort of dedication. Never a good idea. ;)
You have a legitimate case with the time zone difference. I ordered mine at around 10:30pm CST, which would have been 8:30pm PST, so my case would be a little weaker were I to want to pursue the $20...
I'm not really complaining, b/c I'm not in a position that $20 is a huge deal for me (though I'm not so far away from that position that I begrudge those who are complaining), but it does seem odd to make the case available on the 1st, and then offer a rebate for the 2nd on... it's as if they're...
I just checked my order status on NewEgg, and the 550D is showing shipped! I must have just caught it as it changed, b/c there's no tracking number yet, and no e'mail confirming the change in status.
So, I'm not quite counting that chicken yet, but it's looking like a promising hatch!
