Not sure of any way of testing a modem without putting a replacement modem on. What are your ping results like?

what about running a speedtest on the line speedtest.com, might be a viurs/malware/toolbar issue could be worth scanning your pc and reseting your browser to defaults

I will not be installing win 8 on my rig, i installed the beta on a vm on didnt like it. not sure what the full release is like though.

I always use corsair ram in all my pc builds, only had problems with a fauty stick once...

Hi this board takes 32gb of ram so you could put in more but personaly i would get 2 x 8gb of ram and run them in dual channel along side the existing ram. Are you running a 64bit os?

Hi it all depends on how many memory slots you have? whats the model of the mobo?
